Hey!
We played the Old Ticket Hall in Windsor last night (14-07-07) - what a great gig!
It's an interesting layout here - very high ceiling, a massive bar (which used to be the ticket office) and a horse shoe shaped area around the bar for people to stand. Still - it creates a good atmosphere when the place fills up.
Leaving the doors open to the venue all evening is a great idea because you catch passers by from all angles. The rear doors open onto the platform at Windsor and Eton Riverside Station meaning whilst playing live on stage we can wave at the passengers as they disembark!
Thanks to the American tourist and his family who threw a £20 tip onto the stage! I've never seen Bruce's foot leave his FX pedals so fast before in my life - there was no way I could dislodge him from that £20 although I was racking my brain for a way! Let's hope it catches on anyway! We felt like musical pole dancers! In fact, a note to the girls - you're hereby given permission to put money into our pants!
Our cover band is back here again on Saturday 11 Aug. See you then.......
D
Our cover band did a gig at at The Bodleian Library, Oxford University last night - in Divinity School which is akin to a cathedral!
The website reads…’The Bodleian Library is the main research library of the University of Oxford. It is also a copyright deposit library and its collections are used by scholars from around the world.’
What it doesn’t mention is the reverb!! So, just incase you are offered a gig there - you'll start playing at approximately 10pm and the reverb will start at 5 past!
We had a good time anyway and thanks to the Medics Final Dinner for jumping around and singing. Also thanks to Katherine for helping us on the day - hope you enjoyed yourself despite having to organise and run everything.
